DOT, aka Daniel Shoykhet, is an LA based artist who grew up in the chaos of New York. With a rapid rise in the art scene, his work is already getting attention from galleries and collectors. Blending the precision of photorealism with the irony of pop aesthetics, DOT's new body of work transforms shiny foil balloons into uncanny icons. Every wrinkle, reflection, and seam is rendered with obsessive detail, turning playful objects of contemporary culture into fine art. These balloon creatures cross into surreal territory, alive, unsettling, and unforgettable.

“I am fascinated by the limits of human consciousness. If I can trick your perception with just a few sprays of paint, imagine how malleable our reality really is,” DOT reflects on his work.

What began as a pursuit to understand the boundary between physical and metaphysical space has evolved into a practice of surrealist compositions that challenge the mind. Completely self taught, DOT burst onto the scene with his Chicago mural debut, a launchpad that led to gallery shows and large scale murals across the U.S. Now based in LA, DOT continues to develop his studio practice as he prepares for his first solo exhibition.
