Brooklyn-born and Dallas-based, JM Rizzi is an accomplished artist whose dynamic practice spans large-scale murals, public sculptures, and mixed media canvases. Emerging from the vibrant graffiti scene of 1990s New York City, Rizzi’s gestural expressionism has evolved into a sophisticated exploration of abstraction, blending the energy of illegal artforms with a conceptual depth rooted in movement and rhythm. His bold murals have graced walls from Rockefeller Center to Boras, Sweden, and Shenzen, China, while his studio work has been exhibited at Manhattan’s Woodward Gallery and the Bronx’s WallWorks Gallery. Recently, he unveiled limited-edition collections in collaboration with Infinite Objects and Detroit-based 1xRun.
Rizzi’s art is a symphony of color and motion, influenced by inspirations as diverse as jazz music, Robert Motherwell, Wu-Tang Clan, and Texas sunsets. Each piece is a visual conversation, where bold hues serve as horn pops, muted tones as bass lines, and gestural marks pulse with rhythm. His process combines spontaneous experimentation with deliberate rearrangement, crafting works that balance playfulness with sophistication.
With an innate ability for placemaking, Rizzi transforms spaces into vibrant narratives. His work transcends the boundaries of language, telling a deeply personal story that continues to unfold with each creation.
