Los Angeles, CA • ♐︎

Risk Rock is a trailblazing icon in graffiti and street art, celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions and innovative spirit. Knighted by the Medici Family and the first artist to paint in Michelangelo’s studio in over 400 years, Risk’s artistry has reshaped urban culture and cemented his legacy.

In 1987, Risk made history as the first West Coast artist to paint New York City subway trains, connecting with graffiti legends like Lee Quinones and Henry Chalfant. He pioneered the freight train movement on the West Coast, creating iconic works, including a full top-to-bottom piece, and revolutionized the Los Angeles freeway art scene with bold, full-color productions on overpasses and signs, dubbed “heavens” by his crew.

Risk’s accolades include winning the 1989 World Graffiti Championship in England with partner Slick and earning the National Scholastics Arts Award as a teen. Despite challenges balancing academia and street art, he earned national attention for his mural atop USC’s Fine Arts Department, which he painted after being reinstated with a scholarship.

Collaborating with stars like Ice Cube, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Aerosmith, Risk also co-created the iconic Third Rail Streetwear line before shifting focus to fatherhood and fine art. Today, his “West Coast Fun Factory” studio fosters creativity, cementing Risk’s role as an enduring force in art. His motto, “KEEP ON KEEPIN ON,” reflects a legacy that inspires generations.
