Kevron Madden

Kev’Ron Madden is a Black oil painter and illustrator based in Dallas, Texas. His work explores the
limitless possibilities of surrealism, blending newly imagined imagery with the traditions of Western and Texas art.

Through his paintings, Madden creates immersive worlds that blur the line between reality and imagination, challenging where western art can be taken and viewing it through a new lens. At the core of his current practice is a commitment to reestablishing the history of the Black cowboy, restoring its place within the broader story of the American West while using surrealism to push beyond historical representation. By balancing cultural narrative with creative exploration, Madden's work challenges convention and expands what Western art can be and where it can go.

Madden earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Stephen F. Austin State
University in 2020. He has participated in exhibitions and art fairs across the United States, most recently including Cowboy Noire at 400H Gallery, in Fort Worth, Texas; New Texas Talent 33 in Dallas, Texas; and the completion of an 18-Month Residency with the Cedars Union in Dallas, Texas
